History

Whoever enters Sportstal Dijckhoeve in Lisserbroek immediately feels that this is more than just a livery stable. Everything here breathes history.

For more than fifty years, this place has been the stage of horses, riders and stories passed down from generation to generation.

From land to stable

The location, "De lange stukken", has been in the possession of the De Regt family for generations, one of the pioneer families in the Haarlemmermeer. Once agricultural land, until Pim de Regt – a man with a passion for horses – decided to build a trotters stable in the 1960s. He laid out a 1.5 km training track and placed fifty boxes for his trotters and broodmares. Under the name Stal de Regt, he bred many horses that made a name for themselves on the track.

A new direction

After Pim's passing in 1991, the stable changed course. The trotters made way for dressage and show jumping horses. New stables, spacious arenas and improved facilities were added. What remained was the love for horses and the special atmosphere that can only be found in places with a story.

The old training track — originally built for trotters — was given a new purpose as a training track for dressage and show jumping horses. Anyone who rides the 1.5 km track today is literally riding over the stable's heritage.

Life at the Dijckhoeve

Life at Sportstal Dijckhoeve follows a calm rhythm. Riders greet each other, horses nibble on fresh hay, and in the background lies the old training track, still in use. There is a sense of community: everyone keeps an eye on each other's horses and helps out where needed.

Over the years, the stable has been expanded with new boxes, a covered outdoor arena and a modern horse walker. But the original characteristic layout — with the indoor arena at its heart and De Hooiberg as the central point — has always been preserved.

A stable that keeps growing

Today, Sportstal Dijckhoeve is known as a livery stable with history and a future. Dressage remains at its heart, but show jumping, recreational riding and carriage driving are also part of it. The stable continues to develop, without forgetting its past.

With an active riding club organising monthly competitions, a growing group of boarding clients and ongoing investments in the grounds, the future of the Dijckhoeve is assured. The history simply continues.
